McAlister Assets, LLC was founded by Hydie McAlister and Sharon Beach in January 2018. Hydie McAlister’s father, Jim McAlister, Sr., formed the original McAlister Company of Houston in 1973 to invest in land parcels in the path of single-family and multi-family residential, retail, and mixed-use commercial development growth.
In 2017 Hydie McAlister along with her business partner Sharon Beach launched RCR Rail Co. to target rail served industrial park developments. RCR Rail Co.’s first park is a 137-acre development in Hempstead, Texas, serviced by Union Pacific Corporation. The second park is a 752-acre development in Taylor, Texas, serviced by Union Pacific Corporations and BNSF.
In 2008, Jim McAlister, Sr. formed McAlister Investment Real Estate with partner Hydie McAlister, and later joined by Paul Connor in 2012, to pursue advantageous land investment opportunities resulting from the real estate crisis.
In 2003, McAlister company transitioned from forming individual partnerships for each investment to forming discretionary real estate investment funds, acquiring multiple investment properties in Houston, San Antonio and Austin, Texas in order to achieve the benefits of diversification for investors.
